The Iron return to the Attis Arena for the final time in the league for the 2023-24 season, taking on a Blyth Spartans fighting for their lives at the other end of the division.
Last time out, the Iron put on a truly convincing display in a 4-1 triumph against Hereford. The Iron came back from being a goal down at half-time, before Cal Roberts got the Iron back in the game with a great strike then came close to putting the Iron ahead after a great free-kick where Maxim Kouogun managed to pounce for United, before Liam McAlinden and Alfie Beestin wrapped up the three points.
The reverse fixture against Blyth Spartans away from home was a day to forget for Scunthorpe. The Iron took the lead late on in the 79th minute with Danny Elliott getting the goal, while in the fifth minute of additional time Blyth got a late equaliser at the death scored by Will McGowan to secure a point which could now prove to be absolutely massive by the end of the season.
Three points against Blyth would all but confirm second place, giving the Iron home advantage in the play-off semi-final, and also the final, should United qualify.

IRON TEAM NEWS
Jimmy Dean has been able to get further rest and recovery into his side in the last week after a busy Easter period, with the majority of players all fit and available for selection after recent injuries.
Skipper Michael Clunan missed last weekend with a hamstring injury but is now back in contention, while knocks around the squad have began to clear up. Elsewhere, Maison Campbell has been recalled by parent club York City, with Jimmy Dean stating an expectany for there to be a replacement goalkeeper imminently.
THE OPPOSITION
Blyth sit 20th - one place above the final relegation spot, level on points with Farsley Celtic in 21st only on goal difference - with every point absolutely massive for Blyth at this stage of the season. Blyth will have an eye on Farsley Celtic’s trip to Darlington, with the Quakers just sitting one place above Scunthorpe's opponents.
With Blyth desperate for three points it is clear they will not be complacent at the Attis Arena as they will look to defend with their lives, and should be a hard side to break down due to the predicament they lie in.
As much as Blyth need a big performance, their form has slipped recently as they have lost their last three matches, against Curzon Ashton, Chorley and Rushall Olympic. With their final two fixtures being against Scunthorpe in second and Brackley in third, the odds are stacked against the Spartans, as they look to pull out two massive results for them to avoid the drop zone.
